Scottsbluff golfers win in Cheyenne; Gering third in North Platte
Make it three in a row for the Scottsbluff girls golf team. The Bearcats won their third straight tournament to open the season Friday as they wrapped up the two day Cheyenne Invitational.
Scottsbluff fired back-to-back 251's and placed four girls in the top ten. Jaylee Pilkington paced the Bearcats with a two day total of 163, which included a 79 Friday, her first sub 80 round ever in tournament play. Megan Pilkington followed with a fifth place total of 168. Jordan York was eighth with a 174 and Kim Moore was ninth with a 175.
Gering played at the North Platte Invitational Friday and finished third in the eight team field. Sidney took the title in sudden deather over McCook. Both teams finished regulation play at 363. Gering was another nine strokes back.
Megan Vetrovsky of McCook was the meet medalist with a 75. Kendall Bayne paced Gering with a fifth place 88. Sam Rahmig of the Bulldogs with eighth with an 89.
