Wyoming whips CSC in exhibition

LARAMIE, Wyo.- Junior guard Katilyn Mileto and freshman center Kaylie Rader each scored 22 points Friday night while leading the University of Wyoming to a 92-35 victory over Chadron State College in a women's exhibition basketball game in Laramie.

The Cowgirls, who outscored the Eagles 40-4 in the paint, jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first four minutes and were ahead 48-13 at halftime.

Wyoming, which is coming off a 24-8 season and was tabbed to finish second in the Mountain West Conference in the league's preseason poll last month, shot 47.9 percent from the field compared to Chadron State's 25 percent. The Cowgirls also outscored the Eagles 15-5 from the free throw line and out-rebounded the visitors 60-27.

Mileto, one of two returning starters for Wyoming, made six of 11 3-point attempts to account for most of her scoring. Rader was the game's leading rebounder with eight. Guard Fallon Lewis also scored in double figures for Wyoming with 14 points.

Senior transfer Kayli Rateth led Chadron State in scoring with 10 points. Kattie Ranta, last year's leading scorer and rebounder for the Eagles, scored eight points and collected a team-best seven rebounds.

The Eagles will open their season on Saturday, Nov 9 at Missouri Western State in St. Joseph.
