Zephyrs top Laramie 7-3
The WESTCO Zephyrs moved their record to 23-11 Monday night with a 7-3, nine inning, win at Laramie.
The Z's of Mark Moran scored all the runs they needed in a three run third inning. They added a single tally in the fourth to go up 4-0. Laramie got that run back in the bottom half of the inning, but the Zephyrs put the game away with another run in the fifth and two in the seventh.
WESTCO pounded out 15 hits in the game, led by Ty Dunkel and Beau Lofink who both had three hits. Dunkel added two rbi as did Ty Benson, who also and two hits, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Eric Moreno moved to 7-1 on the season working the first 8 1/3 innings before Ty Wilson pitched the final two outs. Moreno struck out nine. He needed his strike out pitch as he surrendered 13 Laramie hits to go along with four Zephyr errors.
The hosts used seven different pitchers while trying to slow down the Zephyr attack.
WESTCO is back into action Wednesday hosting Alliance.
