Two Chadron players honored

CHADRON – Chadron State College's Jonn McLain and Conor Casey are both the Nebraska Division II Football Players of the Week.

McLain, a junior quarterback from Chadron, set four school records in the Eagles' loss to fifth-ranked CSU-Pueblo Saturday. He completed 49 of 74 passes for 600 yards and four touchdowns. His completions, attempts and yards are all school records. He also set the school record for most total offense in the game.

Casey, a junior from Rapid City, S.D., had nine tackles, including assisting on a tackle for loss, and broke up two passes in Saturday's game to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The volleyball player of the week is Nebraska-Kearney's MJ Massanet, who had 26 total kills in two matches for the 18th-ranked Lopers last weekend. Massanet has registered at least 10 kills in each of the last six matches for UNK (18-2).
