Nebraska women ranked
Lincoln- The Nebraska track and field team will open the 2013 indoor season this weekend with the women's team ranked in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25. Released Tuesday afternoon by the USTFCCCA, the Husker women will start the season ranked No. 21 in the country. Clemson holds the top spot nationally on the women's side, while Arkansas is ranked first on the men's side.
The Huskers return an NCAA Champion, six All-Americans and five Big Ten Conference Champions in 2013. The women will look to defend their 2012 Big Ten Indoor title as the Huskers look to add to their 104 conference team titles in their second year in the Big Ten Conference.
The Big Ten was well represented in the preseason rankings, with four teams ranked on the men's side and five on the women's side.
The Huskers are set to open the 2013 season this weekend when they host the Holiday Inn Invitational at the Devaney Center Indoor Track. Action is slated to start on Friday, Jan. 11 at 4 p.m., and will continue on Saturday, Jan. 12 at Noon.
