Local fans enjoy World Cup
The World Cup every four years is the largest sporting spectacle in the world and this year in Brazil the Nebraska panhandle is represented.
Justin Lana of Gering and Maggie Skiles of Scottsbluff were in attendance for yesterday's 2-1 win by the United States over Ghana.
Clint Dempsey scored in the match's first minute and then John Brooks knocked in a header in the waning moments to give the USMNT the mild upset.
They'll play Portugal next on Sunday night at 6:00 in a match that could decide who advances to the knockout round.
