Vaccination for COVID-19 in the Panhandle is now available to everyone 18 years old and older, regardless of medical condition or history.
Panhandle Public Health District Director Kim Engel tells KNEB News as of Monday morning, the district had received approval from Nebraska DHHS Incident Commander Angie Ling to begin administration of the vaccines to all eligible populations by age gorup.
Those seeking the shot are still required to register at vaccinate.ne.gov for scheduling.
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the disclosure of the very first case of the illness in the Panhandle, confirmed at the time as a Scotts Bluff County resident.
Also starting today, the Federal Pharmacy vaccination program across Nebraska is beginning to vaccinate those 18 and older, with the same requirement that they first register through the state website.
