Morrill County Commissioner Steve Erdman is getting support from the two Sidney candidates who trailed him and Ogallala’s Karl Elmshaueser in the 47th legislative district primary. But only one is ready to full endorse him.

Peggy Popps and Wendell Gaston are co-sponsoring a Meet and Greet event for Erdman at a Sidney restaurant Thursday night. Popps says she is endorsing Erdman for the seat, sighting his hard work during the primary campaign throughout all ten counties in the district. Popps says she has informed Elmshaueser about her decision.

Gaston told KNEB News while he is supporting Erdman’s efforts,  but he is not ready to fully endorse anyone yet because he likes both men.

Erdman says he is getting the support because of his “common-sense approach to government” and his experience on local boards he has served on. The event this evening is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Point restaurant.
