LGBT Community Forum set for Monday in Scottsbluff

LGBT Community Forum set for Monday in Scottsbluff

The Scotts Bluff County Democratic Party, in coordination with the Human Rights Campaign and Nebraska ROOTS, will be hosting an LGBT Community Forum on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 6:00 pm in the Community Room at 1906 Broadway in the Law Offices of Michael W. Meister.

“This community forum will provide both the LGBT community, allies and any citizens interested in learning more about issues affecting the LGBT community to come together, meet one another and share information and experiences about living in rural Nebraska,” said Scotts Bluff County Democrats Outreach Director Ryan Griffin.

LGBT stands for lesbian gay, bisexual and transgender and is inclusive of straight allies. The community forum will provide participants and visitors an opportunity to share their experiences as a member of the LGBT community or as an ally or family member. An update on some of our work to date and ways to get involved will also be discussed.

HRC Nebraska is working toward equality for all LGBT Nebraskans, and we want to make sure we hear from voices all across the state. Nebraska ROOTS is focused on identifying, developing, and training leaders, groups, and organizations to affect change in our rural and small town communities.

Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of sexual orientation.
