Twin Cities Development will be hosting the second of three Workforce CEO Summits on October 2nd at Western Nebraska Community College. The Summit will be hosted and facilitated by John Massey, JG Elliott Insurance Company and Steve Olsen, Simmons Olsen Law Firm.
Jim Kerr, TCD President says, “This is a rare opportunity to learn from a national site consultant how we can compete for economic development projects. We need to bring our business and community leaders together to understand our economic development capacity and our community’s role in the economic development process.”
This Workforce CEO Summit has a National Site Consultant, Tim Feemster, Managing Principal, with Foremost Quality Logistics, from Dallas, TX. scheduled to work with our community leaders on economic development workforce and marketing strategies for our area to compete in the national economic development market. Mr. Feemster will arrive October 1st with a TCD Stakeholders Dinner.
TCD has a full day of activities on October 2nd. Mr. Feemster will work with the City of Gering Utility Team on the utility capacities at the Gering Industry Park. There will be a discussion with our communications leaders on understanding the assets needed and demanded by site decision-makers. Next on the agenda will include tours of our sites and buildings.
Paul and Adam Reed will be hosting a luncheon with approximately 10 manufacturing leaders to discuss workforce issues and why these businesses continue to be successful in our Scottsbluff/Gering Area.
Mr. Feemster in the afternoon will meet with education representatives to discuss workforce training and development with our High School Career Academies and WNCC customized skills training.
Twin Cities Development will have their Workforce CEO Summit Session at 3 pm at WNCC. Mr. Feemster will have a presentation on how economic development markets the size of Scottsbluff/Gering compete for economic development projects, how important workforce development is with economic development recruitment, and discuss target industries that fit our economic development market.
The Twin Cities Development Board of Directors will host Mr. Feemster for a dinner the evening of October 2nd. The topic of discussion will be marketing strategies TCD must take to be aggressive in national economic development recruitment.
